Pluto Internet understands the frustrations of bandwidth constraints in the local market and has a number of packaged options that will suit individual requirements. For its newer market -- larger corporates -- Pluto has specifically developed a compression technology. This allows Diginet subscribers to more effectively utilise available bandwidth, increasing their current bandwidth by approximately 25%.
Viruses and malicious code are propagated mainly through the Internet and can wreak havoc on PCs and the corporate network. It is therefore imperative that ISPs include security as part of their offering. Pluto offers additional value-add through the stringent security that it has integrated with its services. Its Xamine scan engine and F-Prot anti-virus signatures greatly minimise the chance of infection, providing peace of mind to clients.
Spam -- a time consuming, productivity-robbing phenomenon -- and abuse of email and Internet access are other challenges facing businesses. Pluto’s content inspection technology is included in its services allowing companies to be more productive and time-efficient.
Pluto offers a range of services with packaged optional extras ensuring each individual or company’s distinct needs are met.
Analogue dial up:
Analogue dial up is ideal for the individual or SoHo user that does not require in excess of two hours Internet connectivity a day to, for example, download email or surf the Web. The maximum speed achieved with an analogue dial up service is 56k.

Pluto offers an additional service that includes email pool functionality. This allows users to manage multiple email addresses under the same domain. All email addresses with the same domain are downloaded onto a server and distributed to individual mail boxes. This provides the added advantage of being able to manage and maintain email directly rather than relying on the ISP for email housekeeping. It also allows the administrator to increase unlimited email addresses under the domain name without contacting the ISP.
Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN):
ISDN is a reliable dial-up digital connection that is more stable than an analogue solution and provides better performance with service increments starting at 64k. Home users and SoHo environments benefit from this connectivity option. The entry-level cost is the same as for a 64k dial-up analogue connection, with it increasing according to escalating connection speeds.

Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL)
ADSL provides users with a permanently ‘on’ high-speed Internet connection – also known as broadband -- at a fixed monthly cost. Its increased bandwidth of 512k provides a faster service and features quick access to information. Ideal for SMEs, ADSL is fast gaining popularity amongst home users with more affordable rates

ADSL Business (uncapped)
In line with the higher expectations and throughput requirements of business users, Pluto offers an ADSL Business option that includes an unlimited monthly download per user account. A monthly download limit of three gigabytes (GB) is usually imposed with the regular ADSL subscription. However, the ADSL Business option has no limitations on the amount of data that can be downloaded. It is ideal for businesses that require more flexibility yet don’t necessarily require the features of Diginet, otherwise known as a lease-line. ADSL Business subscribers also qualify for their own Internet Protocol (IP) address. This means you can host your own Website and mail server. Email is channelled directly to the company’s mail server rather than the ISP’s, which results in faster access to email. It also provides more management capabilities to the client.

Diginet
Diginet is a high-speed permanent digital connection, otherwise known as a leased line. It offers permanently ‘on’ or open high-speed digital access that is secure, fast, reliable and has a fixed monthly cost. It is designed for users that require access to the Internet and email for the greater part of the day, as well as for applications that require higher bandwidth. It is ideal for mission critical business environments where uptime is paramount. It features a high-quality digital network with high data transmission speeds and optimum performance. It also allows companies to expand on bandwidth requirements as and when the business grows, ensuring future needs are met.
Pluto offers various Diginet packages that include shared speeds of 64kbps to 128kbps (full). These speeds, both shared and full, relate to contention ratios where the ISP’s bandwidth of 512K is shared between two or more clients. Pluto offers low contention ratio packages that guarantee higher bandwidth. They include a 1:1 ratio that entitles the company to the guaranteed use of full bandwidth. A 2:1 shared ratio is also offered, allowing two users to make use of the bandwidth connection provided by Pluto. An entry-level option offers a ratio of 4:1 for clients with more conservative requirements.
Diginet offers the same benefits as Business ADSL. It includes multiple public IP addresses and hosts multiple servers, offering users the advantage of managing and maintaining email in-house with quicker access since the mail is channelled directly to the client’s email server.
Pluto has also developed a traffic shaping and bandwidth management solution that allows ‘shared’ users to make use of each others’ under-utilised bandwidth, thus providing a ‘burst’ of additional bandwidth without having to pay for a full service.

Web Hosting
Business need to increase their visibility and presence through the Internet and a Website provides just that. A Website – a powerful marketing tool - is a means to communicate information about a company, its services or products and pricing. However, it is important to qualify the company that hosts your Website as there are many companies that surreptitiously and illegally make use of large organisations’ servers to launch their own hosting service.
Pluto Internet offers a Web hosting service that features local and international hosting options. These options are important depending on budgets and whether the target markets are international or local. International hosting services are generally less costly but can result in slower access to the Website.
